Appointment Cancellation Policy
Our goal is to provide quality health care to all of our patients in a timely manner. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience not only our providers, but our other patients as well. Please be aware of our new policy regarding missed appointments.
Appointment Cancellation
Please understand that appointment times are limited. We know your time is valuable, and ours is too. Out of respect for our staff and our other patients, we ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice. Missed appointments or appointments canceled without a 48hr notice will incur a $30 fee.
How to Cancel Your Appointment
If you need to cancel your appointment, please call us at (305) 620-8272 for between the hours of 9am and 6pm. If necessary, you may leave a detailed voicemail message or reach us via email at ismilemiami@gmail.com.
Late Cancellations/No-Shows
A cancellation is considered late when the appointment is canceled less than 48 hours before the appointed time. A no-show is when a patient misses an appointment without canceling. In either case, we will charge the patient a $30 missed appointment fee.
For new patients’ first appointments, a no show or late cancellation will be waived, however, we will make a note on your file. All future missed appointments will incur our standard $30 cancellation fee.
Extenuating Circumstances Policy
We understand that sometimes unforeseen events beyond our control occur. When this happens, our Extenuating Circumstances Policy will take precedence over our Cancellation Policy. Below are the accepted extenuating circumstances:
Declared Emergencies and Pandemics
Government declared local or national emergencies, epidemics, pandemics, and public health emergencies (this does not include diseases that are endemic). Given our current social climate, COVID related cancellations will fall under Extenuating Circumstances.
Natural Disasters
Natural disasters, acts of God, large-scale outages of essential utilities, and other severe and abnormal weather events. This does not include weather or natural conditions that are common enough to be foreseeable.
Familial Emergencies
A familial emergency is considered to be when you or an immediate family member’s health or well-being is at risk.
As always, we strive to give all our patients the best possible care. This policy will ensure we can continue to do so while also being respectful and considerate of every patient’s time and availability.
